What to Bring with You

First, let’s talk about what you need to bring with you. You’ll need to have a valid government-issued ID. This is because dispensaries are required by law to check your ID before selling you any products.

You should also bring cash with you for you purchase. Some dispensaries, like The Cake House, do not accept credit or debit cards. This is because these types of payment can be risky for dispensaries, as banks can shut down their accounts due to the Schedule 1 status of cannabis federally. While some dispensaries are willing to take this risk, The Cake House is sticking to cash for now.

All of our locations are equipped with ATM’s if you need to get cash when you arrive!

What to Expect When You Get There

When you first arrive at a dispensary, you’ll probably notice that it looks like any other retail store. There will be a reception area where you will check-in with your ID. There are also ATM’s if you need to withdraw cash. Then you will be able to go to the sales floor to browse our wide selection of products.

The staff at dispensaries are called “budtenders,” and their job is to help you find the right products for your needs. Our budtenders are experts on all things related to cannabis, so don’t be afraid to ask them any questions you have. We are proud that our budtenders are very friendly, and they love to share their canna-knowledge! So, take your time and ask as many questions as you would like!

If you have a particular strain of cannabis in mind, you can ask the budtender for help finding it. Or, if you’re not sure what you want, they can help you choose a product based on your preferences and the effects you’re looking for.

Take your time when you’re at the dispensary. Chat with the budtender and learn as much as you can about the products that are available. This is an important decision, and you want to make sure you’re choosing the right product for you!

One last note, legally, we are not allowed to sell any products after 10:00PM. Some of our stores stop admitting customers at 9:45 PM. This is so that we make sure we can get all transactions processed before 10:00PM. So if you are running late, be sure to try to get to the store before 9:45PM.
